Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Defogit handles information when you use the iOS app and this website.

Effective date: September 18, 2026

1. Who operates Defogit

Defogit is operated by Evgeny Knoblokh under the Knoblabs brand. Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to support.knoblabs@gmail.com.

2. What Defogit does

Defogit is an iOS app for focus and relaxation. It lets you draw on a fogged window scene without creating a Defogit account. An Apple Account is used for App Store downloads and purchases.

3. Information we process

Depending on how you use Defogit, the following information may be processed:

  • Local app data. Defogit stores settings and app state on your device so the app can work as expected.
  • Purchase and paid-access data. Apple's App Store and Adapty process information needed to display offers, validate transactions, and manage or restore paid access. This may include product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and an Adapty-generated profile identifier, together with technical information about the app and device. Apple handles payment details; we do not receive your full payment card number.
  • App usage data. Google Analytics for Firebase helps us understand how Defogit is used. This may include app opens, sessions, interactions with features, purchase-related events, app and operating system versions, device information, language, an app-instance identifier, and an approximate region derived from an IP address.
  • Crash and diagnostic data. Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify and fix problems. Reports may include error details, stack traces, the app's state when a problem occurred, app and operating system versions, device information, and installation or session identifiers. Reports may also include usage events that help explain what happened before a crash.
  • Support messages. If you email us, we receive the information you include in that message.
  • Basic website request data. Hosting providers may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and request timing to deliver and protect the site.

4. What Defogit does not currently do

Defogit does not require a Defogit account and does not show advertising. Technical data may still be processed for app analytics, diagnostics, and purchases as described above.

Defogit also does not currently include public profiles, a social feed, or in-app messaging.

5. Why information is processed

We process information only where it is needed to:

  • deliver the app experience;
  • store your settings and local app state;
  • show and manage optional purchases and subscriptions;
  • restore paid access where supported;
  • understand which features people use and whether they return to the app;
  • identify crashes, diagnose errors, and improve reliability;
  • respond to support requests; and
  • keep the app and website secure and available.

6. Third-party services

Defogit relies on a small number of third-party services:

These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Data storage and retention

Settings and local app state are stored on your device. Deleting the app normally removes this local data from that installation. Using iOS's Offload App option retains documents and data. Copies in device backups are managed separately through Apple's backup settings.

Purchase and subscription records may remain with Apple and Adapty as needed to validate purchases, restore access, handle billing issues, and meet legal requirements. Analytics retention follows the settings of the Google Analytics service used for Defogit. Google's published policy states that Crashlytics begins removing crash reports and associated identifiers after 90 days.

Support emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain support history.

Deleting the app does not itself delete records already held by Apple, Adapty, Firebase, or our support inbox. You can contact us about personal information we control using the address below.

8. International processing

Some third-party services used by Defogit may process information in countries other than your own where needed to provide the service.

9. Your choices

  • You can stop using Defogit at any time.
  • You can manage or cancel Apple-billed subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. On iPhone, open Settings, select your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • You can delete the app to remove its local data, subject to the backup and retention details above.
  • Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us to exercise these rights or ask about data collection. We may need information to locate the relevant records and verify your request.

10. Children

Defogit is not a service specifically directed to children. If you believe a child's personal information has been collected or provided inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, the date on this page will be updated.
